Risk Management Specialist

 

Your role

Are you recognized for your leadership, rigor, and ability to mobilize a team toward shared goals? We are looking for a Credit and Collections Manager to lead and optimize all activities related to credit management, accounts receivable, and collections within SG Group.

Reporting to the Vice President of Administration and Finance, you will be responsible for defining the strategies, policies, and processes that ensure sound credit risk management and maximum efficiency in collections. You will also act as a key resource person for the Group’s various entities and your team.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and enforce credit and collections policies and procedures
  • Analyze customer creditworthiness and recommend appropriate credit limits
  • Manage accounts receivable and follow up on high-risk or disputed accounts
  • Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle, including collections and payment applications
  • Address overdue accounts to reduce collection delays and resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with customer service
  • Maintain proactive communication with sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve customer account issues
  • Prepare and present periodic performance reports (DSO, doubtful accounts, provisions, etc.)
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and the implementation of technological tools to support credit management
  • Manage relationships with external partners (lawyers, collection agencies, financial institutions)
  • provide training and development for team members

Desired profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of the credit and collections cycle
  • Proven ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a multi-entity environment
  • Strong risk management and analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and attention to detail
  • Strong written and spoken French; English an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Pétro Plus and Teams is an asset
  • Knowledge of the petroleum products sector is an asset
